St. Petersburg is a beautiful town and the ponce de Leon hotel was perfectly located. It is a historical old building and felt very much like a european type hotel. The location is perfect, with a great Spanish restaurant right on the premises (really good food). The hotel was walking distance to everywhere around the downtown area no need for a car once you get there. No parking though so u have to park at a public parking $5.00 per day. No pool but there is a beautiful public pool very close by at a very nice park with a beach, perfect if u have small kids and very nice for anyone really. The Dali museum is spectacular and worth a trip and stay at this great town. The town has many things to do and beautifully kept.
The only problem we had at the hotel was one of the rooms' hot water did not work. We were given another room. Since it's an older building it takes longer for the hot water to flow. But the front desk was very accommodating and resolved the situation right away.
Staff was very responsive to an AC issue. I'm a local, and have stayed there before. I will absolutely stay again.
he location was excellent the room was clean and the rate for two a good investment also the access to the pier made things easy
the location and a friendly staff like david and the girls
We were very disappointed with our room. It was very small and not very clean. We did not feel we got what we paid for the room.
Location, bus loop right outside,Staff very helpful and made sure you were happy with room. Value for money.
Very good location. Nices bars/restaurant next to the hotel. Close-by free parking.
Nice building. Good location.
Read some negative reviews online initially. Booked and stayed with my two brothers from out of state (to see b-ball game). No major complaints although our reception reflected many reviews. Neeeed: train staff on North American service - somewhat rude at desk (ie not going out of way to service customers (see below). This was reflected in others' reviews".... I think this is a hotel run by family of immigrants. Sounds nasty, but one on one they were nice to interact with. Asked for info on transport to game - nnot fully receptive. Not necessary assuming goal of staying in business.
Rooms were not good and hallways were narrow and dark.
I love the old building and the upgrades. It makes me happy that they kept a nice old building and didn't bulldoze it to make another cookie- cutter hotel. Ceviche restaurant was absolutely delightful! The best tapas this side of Spain!
Location Price food next store
No 1 air conditioner was very noisy and room was very warm room 401 No 2 very loud in room next to us at12:30 A.M. ruined our evening,It went on for all night.Somebody should check every hour for this. I feel we should a certificate for a another stay.We were celebrating our 52nd Ann. And this was not pleasant night. When we come back we will stay there again.
Historic hotel at a great location!
It was a bit tight for 3 adults and 2 little kids. We also thought we had a bit more of a kitchen.
Location was great.
Reservation was for two beds. Second bed was nothing more that fold out couch. Room ammenities were limited and are what I would consider to be cheap. Tv channels were limited, in particular, no espn. The bottom line is that the limited time that was spent in the room, we were never what I would consider "comfortable".
Great location in the heart of South Beach. Staff was nice and allowed us to check out late. The hotel has been renovated within the last 5 years and it is more comfortable than I remembered
Air Conditioning unit was noisy P-tac unit in the wall.
Parking nearby came to $12 dollars a night, if you can walk, free parking in a residential neighbourhood, but you are not told this. Boutique?, small, grubby and and ona noisy corner. Booked a small, cheap room, when we got in it was grubby, and very very small, even though meant for 2 people. On Bookings website it states all rooms have at least a flat screen tv, ours was the oldest tv you have ever seen, and should have been on a boot sale, and dresser under it was collapsing due the weight. I complained (rare for me) and we were moved to a larger, more comfortable room, (sadly still grubby, even had used chewing gum on the window sill by the bed). Reception staff never spoke as you passed them unless you made the first move.
